Media Softball recently held its Junior Division All Star game


The Yellow team made up of players from Apollo Pizza, RC Titter Construction, Suburban Overhead Doors, and Weitz and Luxenburg, started the scoring with a run in the first and two in the second before the Red team could answer.

The Yellow team put up five more runs in fourth inning, three in the fifth and two in the sixth.

The Red team with players from RF Bondurant Plumbing, Booth's Batters, Forwood & Christie Orthodontics, and Rosemont Pharmacy Stars scored two runs in the sixth and five in the seventh inning, but it was not enough. The final score was 13-8 for the Yellow team.

For the Yellow team, Sarah Jane Whittemore received the game ball with a single and a triple and five RBIs, and made a put-out at catcher. Sabrina Wenner was 3-3 with one RBI, Carly Perlman was 3-3 and played well in the field with three put-outs. Emily Lesher and Erika Rosenbloom and Lindsey Moppert were 2-3, each with an RBI, and Carly Baillis contributed with a double.

The game was won defensively with some great plays. McDevitt made two double plays while in the field; caught a line-drive at pitcher and picked the runner off at first. Farkas had four put-outs.

For the Red team, Charlotte Mingey was 2-2, Sophie Bollinger was 1-2, with a walk and an RBI. Katelyn Callahan and Jordan Schuller both had two walks. Maya Hartman was 2-3. Agnes Friend was 1-3 with an RBI. Defensively, Freind made a big in left field, Callahan threw out a runner at second from center field, and Schuller caught a runner at second from shortfield.

Senior Division Standings: Hometown Wellness, 11-3; Immediacy Learning Center, 9-4; Ron Calabrese Marble & Ceramic Tile, 8-5 with a tie; Media Real Estate, 6-8, D. Pileggi & Son, 5-8; Media Police Association, 1-12 with a tie.
