Haverford High School Hall of Fame to induct 15th class

The Haverford High School Sports Hall of Fame will honor nine new members and one team at its 15th annual awards dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Llanerch Country Club in Havertown.

This year’s inductees are Linda Edelman Murphy (1976), Siobhan Campbell Rondolone (1985), Donald Ridge Maclaren (1966), Colleen O’Hara (1999), Beckett Hollenbach (1998), Ann Kerns (1978), Mark Mondschein (1970), Ken Leonard (posthumous 1969) and coach Wayne Heim. Long time coach, teacher and administrator Valerie Walchak, who played in integral role in promoting the game of women’s lacrosse on a regional and national level, will receive this year’s Special Recognition Award. The 1993 4 x 800 relay team of Ed Poynton, Chris Duckworth, Bob Freas and Mark Wilson is being presented with this year’s team induction.

The Haverford High School Sports Hall of Fame board of directors, along with its growing membership, nominated and voted for these inductees. After their induction, a plaque featuring each honoree will be placed in the lobby outside of Haverford High’s Juenger Gymnasium.

Tickets for the banquet, which has been filled to capacity each of last the 14 years, are available by calling 610-449-6711. There will be a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by the banquet at 7 p.m. The cost for the evening is $40 per person.
