Springfield 11U baseball wins Cal Ripken tournament

Springfield 11U baseball team won the Cal Ripken SE Pennsylvania State Tournament on July 28 by beating Nether Providence 9-3. In the tournament, which was hosted by Chichester, the Springfield team scored a total of 50 runs, while giving up only nine. With the state title, the team has earned a spot in the Cal Ripken Mid Atlantic Regional Tournament, which will be held in Severn, Md.
