Media Softball Senior All Star game news

The 2010 Media Softball Senior All Stars (seen above) are:
-For D. Pileggi & Son, Domenica Pileggi, Katrin Welsh, Lauren Welsh and Sylvia Grega.
-For Hometown Wellness Center. Brigid Shehan, Gabby Revenis, Jenn Angeline and Lindsay Johnson
-For Media Police Association, Becca DeMuth, Shelly Craig, Talia Mingey and Taryn Mingey
-For Immediacy Mobile Learning Center, Holly Blair, Lauren Hess, Maggie Schoff and Taylor Wark
-For Media Real Estate, Abbey Luffey, Emily McElwain-Siems , Jordan Yates, Samantha McNelis and Shea Gaffney
-For Ron Calabrese Marble & Ceramic Tile, Abby Dunn, Jenn Glace, Lauren Pastalone and Tierney Simpson


The Senior Slow Pitch Division recently held its All Star Game at Barrall Field in Media. The Yellow team made up of players from Immediacy Mobile Learning, Media Real Estate and Ron Calabrese Marble & Ceramic Tile scored first with 3 runs in the top of the first and second innings. The Red team consisting of players from Hometown Wellness, Media Police Association and D. Pileggi & Son responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Yellow team added 3 runs in the third inning. Both teams scored a run in the fourth and 2 runs in the fifth inning. The Yellow team score 2 in the top of the sixth to end the scoring. The final score was 14-7.

For the Red team, Katrin Welsh won the game ball going 2-4, scoring once driving in a run and for her great play at shortstop. Lauren Welsh, pitched and was 3-3 with and RFI and scored a run. Becca DeMuth went 2-3 and Shelly Craig 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Domenica Pileggi, Lindsay Johnson, Talia Mingey Gabby Revenis, Jenn Angeline and Taryn Mingey all went 1-3 and scored runs. The Mingey sisters combined for a double play.

For the Yellow team, the game ball went to Lauren Pastalone who went 3-4, had 2 RBIs and scored three times. Maggie Schoff was 3-3, including a double and triple. Abbey Luffey, Sami McNelis, Jordon Yates, Lauren Hess and Taylor Wark were all 2-3. Tierney Simpson was 2-4 and scored twice. All the Yellow team players contributed to the scoring with RBIs or runs scored. McNelis made a great play at home to save a run.
