Havertown man offers wealth of sports knowledge

Tom Garrity of Havertown would like to give a historical, biographical talk on athletes in the past fifty years. This unique program has the audience choose the player, coach or broadcaster and the speaker presents interesting facts on the person. The talk is unique because the audience chooses the sports personality. The athletes are not just limited to the Philadelphia sports scene.

Garrity has taken an interest in sports nationwide since he was a child. He is able to give vast amounts of information on over 500 colleges highlighting location, mascot and famous alumni in all walks of life. All talks are free to groups meeting at night or on the weekend. This is a demonstration of memory, recall, and passion for sports.

He developed this ability with the assistance of various people throughout his childhood and young adult life. Garrity will talk about some of those people as he performs his program. The names can come from football, basketball, baseball and ice hockey players from the 1950s to about 1990. The talk is free and the speaker can be reached at 610-853-2124 after 6 p.m.
