12th Annual All-Star girls’ hoops camp at Haverford High taking place this July

Haverford College women’s basketball coach Bobbi Morgan will conduct the 12th annual Haverford Girls’ Basketball Camp July 12 to July 15 at Haverford High School. The camp, sponsored by Haverford Township Recreation, is open to players entering grades two through nine and will run daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Daily sessions will feature stations, individual and team skill work, three-on-three, five on five and skills contests as well as guest speakers from local Division I, II and III colleges. Staff will include local college players and coaches. The camp program is designed to meet the needs of both the beginner and the more experienced player. Campers will be grouped by age and ability.

Morgan enters her 24th year as a head coach next season. Before taking over at Haverford College in 2008, Morgan directed the Cabrini College women’s program to four straight PAC playoff appearances, one ECAC Tournament bid, one PAC title and one NCAA berth. Prior to that, Morgan directed the Haverford High School girls’ team to 14 straight District tournament appearances, six Central Championships and seven Class AAAA PIAA state playoff berths. Other camp staff will include local college players as well as college coaches and high school coaches.

Enrollment for the camp is limited to ensure that each player receives individual attention. All 10 previous camps have been filled to capacity so players are encouraged to register early. Cost for the camp is just $135 ($120 if signed up before May 15). There also is a family discount. Each additional sibling pays just $100 for the week. Registration forms for the camp will be available at area schools and on the recreation link of the Haverford Township website at http://www.haverfordtownship.com.

For more information about the camp call the Haverford Township Recreation office at 610-446-9397 or contact Morgan directly at 610-896-1433.
